EKJ fabric

Eco leather is a great alternative to natural leather. The smooth, elastic surface is easy to maintain – wipe dirt away with a damp cloth, or use gentle eco-leather products if needed. Eco leather should not be wet-washed or bleached.

Martindale cycles

The strength of the fabric, also known as abrasion resistance, is determined by the world-recognized 'Martindale' fabric rub test. During this test, a sample of fabric is pressed against metal discs and rubbed at a certain speed in a circular motion until at least two threads of fabric are broken. Test results are presented in the number of cycles. The more cycles, the more resistant the fabric is. The fabric may be used for furniture if the result of this test is more than 5000 rubbing cycles.

Colour fading resistance

The light resistance test examines fabric's resistance to discoloration. During this test, the example of the fabric is exposed for a certain period of time to lamps simulating ultraviolet sunlight. The results are presented in scoring 1 to 8. Completely non-discolouring fabrics are marked with 8 and the least resistant - 1.
