Velvet

Velvet is a fabric with a luxurious texture and appearance, characterised by its soft, velvety surface. It is a shadowed fabric, meaning it tends to shift in shade depending on the lighting. Velvet looks particularly striking in rich, earthy tones such as green, deep brown, grey, and blue. Modern velvet is often made with blends of synthetic fibres, viscose, or polyamide. This elegant material is currently very popular in interior design and is widely used for furniture and decorative items like cushions. Velvet blends beautifully into home interiors, making it a fabric well worth considering when choosing new upholstery. Over time, some areas of the fabric may lose their soft velvet texture – this is a natural part of the fabric’s charm and character. How to care for velvet: To refresh the fabric, use a soft-bristled brush or a handheld steamer. If any liquid is spilled, blot it immediately with an absorbent cloth – do not rub, as this may damage the fabric. Use only cleaners specifically designed for velvet or warm water with mild soap. Bonnell springs
